Science Week 2016

Science week took place in our school from 14th November-18th November

At lunchtimes in the science lab, students had the opportunity to witness exciting experiments in all their glory. These experiments included ‘How Fireworks are Made,’ ‘Great Balls of Fire’ and ‘Meet the Elements’.  These experiments were a big hit with our first year students.

Each morning, a fun ‘Quirky Science Fact’ was revealed to us over the intercom bringing novel scientific knowledge into our everyday lives. Such facts included: “if Barbie were life size, she would stand 7’2″ tall and have a neck twice the length of a normal human’s neck”. And did you also know that “One bucket of water contains more atoms than the Atlantic Ocean contains buckets of water?”

To continue your interest in science, why not check out the Science Noticeboard for more fun scientific facts and information on famous scientists who have taught us so much about our world.
