On that glorious June Bank holiday Monday 2005, close on 30 staff members and many students joined more than 40,000 women the Flora Dublin Women's Mini Marathon in order to raise funds for Loreto Sudan. The atmosphere was fantastic and everyone who started completed the course, some in record time. Loreto Sudan was chosen as our charity to support Sr Orla, our former chaplain who went to Sudan along with two other Loreto Sisters in February 2003 to establish a a secondary school for girls in Rumbek, an area where only the boys have been educated up until now.
A cheque for almost €10,000 was presented to Sr Orla when she visited at Christmas
