Nicole wins Leinster Schools' Debating Final

Congratulations to Nicole Griffin on her wonderful victory in the Denny Leinster Schools' Debating Competition which took place on Thursday 2nd April in the Exam Hall in Trinity College. Over 300 students entered the competition and only twelve students (four teams of two and four individuals) remained to debate the motion that 'This house believes that striking is an illigitimate form of industrial action'. Nicole opposed the motion and held the audience captive with her wit and charm as she argued her case. According to the audience, who agreed wholeheartedly with the judges, she was a very deserving winner.

Nicole follows in the footsteps of two former Crumlin girls who also held the title of Best Individual Speaker. Her name will now be added on the trophy along with those of our former staff member Yvonne Campbell (1996) and Paula Williams (2001).
